Shipbuilding, ship repair, marine fabrication and LNG construction concentrate some of the highest-exposure work in industry: heavy welding and cutting on carbon and stainless steel, abrasive blasting of coated hulls and structures, and spray application of marine coatings — much of it inside tanks, holds and other confined spaces. Do you test hexavalent chromium and lead from abrasive blasting?
Yes. Blasting coated steel releases hexavalent chromium (OSHA ID-215) and lead (NIOSH 7300 / 7082), along with respirable crystalline silica from the abrasive (XRD). These are core shipyard and marine coatings exposures we run in-house.
Can you support confined-space and hot-work monitoring aboard vessels?
Yes. We supply sampling media and calibrated loaner pumps for personal and area sampling in tanks, holds and confined spaces during welding, cutting and coating, with rush turnaround down to 1 business day and same-day log-in before 2:00 PM CST.
Do you handle LNG construction and fabrication yards?
Yes. Gulf Coast LNG terminals and modular fabrication yards run large welding, blasting and coating scopes. We support them with welding fume, hexavalent chromium, silica, lead and isocyanate monitoring on standing accounts with reserved capacity.
